Exploring Fish Culture's Market Presence This Year and Our Dutch Roots

Updated: May 8

Fish Culture has always centered on direct connections, especially through markets. This year, we continue that tradition with a series of appearances that bring us closer to our community and showcase our quality and design. Originating from The Hague, the city remains our home and the heart of our story.

In this post, we’ll highlight the markets we’re attending, what makes them special, and why our Dutch roots matter. We’ll also share photos from past events and our full schedule so you can plan your visit.

The Importance of Markets for Fish Culture

Markets are more than sales points for Fish Culture, they’re the foundation of our brand and how we build real relationships. Since the beginning, they’ve allowed us to connect directly with customers, get immediate feedback, and share our story.

Visitors often notice the softness and durability of our 100% cotton pieces, something online shopping can’t replicate. Markets let us showcase the craftsmanship and care behind every item.

Our Dutch Roots and The Hague as Our Base

The Hague is more than just our base, it’s where Fish Culture was born and shaped. Its mix of tradition and modernity inspires our designs and approach.

Being here keeps us connected to Dutch culture, the city’s vibrant creative scene, and a loyal local community. Meeting visitors at The Hague markets often turns into lasting connections, fueling our creativity and commitment to quality.

Highlights of This Year’s Market Schedule

This year, Fish Culture will appear at several key markets across the Netherlands and nearby regions. Each market offers a unique atmosphere and audience, but all share a focus on quality, creativity, and community. Here are some highlights:

  • Noordeinde, The Hague – April 8th, 2026

Le Marie Marché Easter Market. Situated on one of the most beautiful streets of The Hague, where the Royal Palace Noordeinde is located.

  • Prins Hendrikstraat, The Hague – April 19th, 2026

It’s called the Flagship Market. Originators of the ‘Homemade Markets’ at their best—come and see for yourself. It’s located in the Zeeheldenkwartier, a must-visit neighborhood of The Hague.

  • Piet Heinstraat, The Hague – May 17th, 2026

The yearly ‘Aspergefeest’. Located between Noordeinde and Prins Hendrikstraat, Piet Heinstraat is one of the most ‘gezellig’ streets in central The Hague.

  • 1ste Haven, Scheveningen – June 20th, 2026

The yearly ‘Vlaggetjesdag’, a unique Scheveningen phenomenon. A festive event dedicated to the ‘Hollandse Nieuwe’, the Dutch annual herring catch in Scheveningen.

  • Reinkenstraat, The Hague – June 28th, 2026

Another Le Marie Marché market, located on the vibrant and lively Reinkenstraat in Duinoord, between the city center and Scheveningen. One of the best places to live—and visit.

  • Noordeinde, The Hague – July 19th, 2026

Another Le Marie Marché market, situated on one of the most beautiful streets of The Hague, where the Royal Palace Noordeinde is located.

  • Piet Heinstraat, The Hague – September 20th, 2026

The yearly ‘Mosselmarkt’. Located between Noordeinde and Prins Hendrikstraat, Piet Heinstraat is one of the most ‘gezellig’ streets in central The Hague.

  • De Molenstraat, The Hague – October 4th, 2026

Located deep in the city center of The Hague. It doesn’t get more historic than this, with some of the best bars in town—but on this day, you’ll be enjoying Fish Culture specialties.

  • Haags Hoog, The Hague – December 4th, 2026

Situated slightly off the beaten path, on the top floor of the Haags Hoog skyscraper—a building dedicated to local entrepreneurs. This is their famous Christmas market.

  • Weimarstraat, The Hague – December 12th, 2026

The one and only Christmas market besides the annual one at Korte Poten. Slightly less traditional, but a must-visit in the Regentessekwartier.
